Van Dieman's Natura Dualis professional ink collection is inspired by the natural world, where contrasts coexist harmoniously. The inks are designed to illustrate moments of duality in nature: night meets day, earth meets sky, water meets land, movement meets stillness. Each color in the Natura Dualis series is formulated for a dual- or multi-color effect. The inks are formulated to create defined edges, undertones, subtle highlights, and even color separations—revealing hidden depths after drying, depending on the nib, paper, and ink flow. The result is writing that feels alive and ink that tells more than one story.

Sea Spray is the gentlest in the collection, and the most elusive. It evokes the fine mist at the edge of the ocean. This ink carries a delicate seafoam green base, split by blooming lavender-pink hues and edged with cool marine blue. In broader swatches, it reveals luminous haloing and soft internal textures. On Tomoe River and Clairefontaine, expect soft rivers of colour that shift tone mid-stroke. In writing, it remains legible but uniquely atmospheric.
