Ukiyo-e translates as "pictures of the floating world" and relates to paintings and illustrations reflecting day to day life in Japan.Taccia Ukiyo-e inks refer to this tradition and in successive series reflect colors used by masters of this genre in their masterpieces.
Hiroshige Andō, also known as Hiroshige Utagawa, is one of Japan's most famous painters and graphic artists. His work inspired the creators of Impressionism.
Hiroshige series includes 4 ink colors. Asahanada is a vivid blue shade taken from the print "The Dyers' Street in Kanda".
Ukiyo-e inks were designed and manufactured in Japan from the carefully selected ingredients. Each color was verified for the conformity with the original woodcut. On each packing you can find the reproduction of the work that was the inspiration for the shade of the ink. If you put all the boxes from one series side by side, you will see the name of the artist to which the series is dedicated to.
