Description
Gallic inks from KWZ Ink are innovative inks for fountain pens, inspired by archival inks from galls, but produced from pure chemicals and dyes. The innovation concerns the method of ink stabilization, thanks to which they are completely safe for fountain pens, while maintaining a beautiful saturated color. Notes written in gallic ink remain partially waterproof, so although you can wash the dye from paper, the iron-gallic component is permanently attached to the paper. The more component, the more water resistance.
All gallic inks naturally darkens over time, due to their reaction with oxygen. When using iron-gallic inks in fountain pens, it's important to remember about proper pen hygiene. If the pen is not used often, rinse it so that the ink does not dry completely in the pen. Washing out dried residues is more difficult than in the case of standard inks.
In this line from KWZ Ink we can distinguish 3 groups of colors that will differ in the content of the iron-gallium component:
- blue-black - is the only one with the highest component content among the palette; its water resistance can be compared with archival ink; it is also resistant to popular "highlighters",
- mandarin and Aztec gold - they have a minimal component content, so water resistance is low, we call them light gallic inks,
- the remaining 18 colors have intermediate component content, i.e. partial water resistance.
